Summary: PLEASE NOTE: San Juan Island is located approximately 90 miles north of Seattle. Tour does not provide hotel pick-up or drop-off. Child Rates apply to children ages 2 to 12. Whale Watching not recommended for children under 2 years old. Price includes Washington State Tax. Please reserve online, or call us toll-free at 888-790-1874. There is a $3.95 processing fee per order. This is a flat fee regardless of the number of tickets or tours purchased on an order.
There is a service charge per ticket. This charge will be reflected on your summary before you checkout. The total shown includes any and all taxes, fuel surcharges, and service fees. There are no additional charges.

Cancellation Policy: There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change Fee Policy: If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.

See wild Orca whales in their natural environment. More than 80 whales are resident to this area. Enjoy watching them feed, rest and play in the calm waters around the San Juan Islands, where they return every April through October. See bald eagles, great blue heron, dalls porpoise and harbor seals. 40 or fewer guest give guests plenty of personalized attention from the professional naturalists aboard. This ratio gives you an opportunity to converse on a one to one basis with your naturalist and captain. The MV Sea Lion is new, fast, warm and comfortable and built specifically for wildlife viewing with walk-around decks, bow, cabin and stern seating; roomy bathroom, too. Sightings are over 95%. Your engaging naturalist crew is known for respectful wildlife viewing.

~~ Will the vessel accommodate a person in a wheelchair?
If the person can SAFELY stand, walk up two steps on the outside of boat, then one on the inside, every effort will be made to board them. Wheelchairs cannot be placed in the boat due to safety considerations. Please advise at the time of booking if anyone in your party has special needs so that arrangements can be made to pre-board.

~~ What are we likely to see besides Whales?
Their well seasoned Captains can usually find one or more of the resident J, K and L pods. (Pods are family groups). There are almost always some Harbor Seal about, and usually River Otter, Wild Mink, Dall's Porpoise, Harbor Porpoise and occasionally transient Orca Whales, Minke Whales, Gray Whales, Humpback Whale, Sea Lion and Pacific White Sided Dolphin.

There are also many variety of birds to see: On any given trip, you will most likely see Double-crested Cormorant, Pelagic Cormorant, Brandts Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Bald Eagle, Black Oystercatcher, Glaucous-winged Gull, Common Murre, Pigeon Guillemot, Rhinoceros Auklet and Belted Kingfisher. The San Juan Islands boast of over 250 bird species!

~~ Where do we go to see whales?
Wherever the whales are. Sometimes that might be west towards Canada, or down to the very south end of San Juan Island, or to the north near the Fraser River and occasionally the orca are not around San Juan Island, but you can depend on this; they go wherever they want to go. (They can easily cover 100 miles in a day and swim up to 30 mph)
